The car part market is pretty much controlled with after market units after the warranty of a vehicle is passed and that is no exception with Vauxhall. The logic to this, is that most of us only own a car for a few years each time, so we look to buy Vauxhall car parts only to keep the car running for the duration we own it. There are other solutions such as buying genuine used Vauxhall parts from breaker yards. The problem here is how much time you have to put in, ring each breaker yard only to find out they do not a have your Vauxhall in stock and of course, they can’t just order what you need, they have to wait until a suitable donor car comes in.
However is you use a service like CarSpareFinder, you can locate you Vauxhall car parts, by only filling in one form and have that request sent to several breaker yards Nationwide, massively increasing your chance of getting that part. There will be a delivery charge, but what you have saved in phones and petrol, in most cases it would be worth it.
It only takes a minute to fill in that form also,, so locating those Vauxhall car parts really isn’t that hard and get genuine versions, not aftermarket.
Vauxhall today revealed that they have been honoured with the Driver Safety Award after being shortlisted for three awards at the recent Brake Awards Ceremony.
Simon Monk, Company Vehicle Operations Manager said:
“I am absolutely delighted, this really validates the work we have collectively done over the last 5 years to improve our employees’ driver safety.”
The award comes after repeated work by the company to improve brakes after they were forced to recall over 250,000 vehicles in the Vectra range due to braking being released involuntarily.
Julie Townsend, Deputy Chief Executive at Brakes said:
“The Fleet Safety Forum Awards for Excellence 2010 was a great success with record breaking level of entries and attendance.”
The awards which are held to recognise the rapid development of road risk management raised over £2,000 for the road traffic charity Brake who help people suffering from the effects of road traffic accidents.
When collecting the award Vauxhall representatives paid special thanks to Bill Parfitt Chairman and CEO of Vauxhall motors saying that his “relentless commitment to safe driving practices has been a constant inspiration for all employees.

Vauxhall have revealed that the 2010 Corsa will be the first to have Start/Stop technology installed.
The development allows driver to increase fuel economy to around 70.6mpg almost seven percent up on previous models.
Start/Stop works by shutting of the engine when the car is stationary at traffic lights or crossings, rather than the current method of leaving the engine idle. When the traffic lights turn green or traffic starts moving all the driver has to do is press the clutch and the car will restart, they then engage into first and it’s off.
Obviously all the cars systems such as steering control, braking etc are maintained whilst the engine is shut off. Vauxhall believe that urban drivers will reap the most benefits from the system as this is where this sort of traffic is rife. Start/Stop can also be easily turned off if on a long journey for example, all the driver needs to do is press a designated on/off button on the dashboard.
Vauxhall Corsa SRI has brand new look and it is very much usable. It not only looks faster but it is really quick with great angular styling and aggressiveness. Under the bonnet you will find 14BHP. As this car is very much aggressive so it is quite rough in ride and you need to be precautious in getting good Bonnet for it. When I got my Vauxhall Corsa SRI Bonnet damaged, I had to look in different ways to get it in the same manner and I just started to find out my own Vauxhall’s part. I had to look out for a bonnet as comfortable and secure because the body of Vauxhall Corsa SRI’s body rocks and roll and I have to manage it and handle it very differently. This comes under a faster car and hence it needs good treatment with all its parts.
You can yourself fix the Bonnet of Vauxhall Corsa SRI and you need following steps to follow. There is a little white lever puller on driver’s seat in foot. You need to pull it out so that bonnet is pooped out and you will see there would be a little catch lift in bonnet and then it can be easily opened. Vauxhall Corsa SRI Bonnet is located in front of the car and if you want to open your Vauxhall Corsa SRI Bonnet as the catch is snapped from the holder then just pull the catch towards you with little force and soon you will hear the pop voice of bonnet. You must have some gaffe tape so that it is secure otherwise it might be dangerous to drive.
You can get the bonnet for your own Vauxhall Corsa SRI in many of the websites that are available with you. If there are little scratches on your vehicle bonnet then you can even paint them. This kind of painting Vauxhall’s vehicle requires great hard work and clean work. For this you need to remove the bonnet of the vehicle and place it in a safe and level place. If you see any chromes and emblems, you must remove any of them. Then just start sanding it with 320 grit sanding block. Sand it properly and make some of the areas as shining. Get a Scotch bite and wet it. Rub this down your bonnet and all the parts of it. Further, rinse your bonnet thoroughly and then let it dry with soft cotton. If you see any ears of left coat of paint, just remove it. Further, spray very light coat of primer on the bonnet. Further let it dry and wipe it gently with steel wool. Give it second coat, again wipe it, then finally move on with third coat, and let it dry.
This would be a bonnet colour that you would surely love. So maintain your Vauxhall Corsa SRI Bonnet in best of the mean as you can. Its handling is tough but if you care then it is easy.
Britain’s first ever sports car the ’Prince Henry’ or C10 to give it its official title will celebrate its 100th birthday this weekend with a celebration at the legendary Shelsey Walsh hill climb track in the Midlands.
The event will include numerous pre-War vehicles but it will be the five of eight surviving Prince Henry’s present that will be the centre of attention. The car, which was the brainchild of Vauxhall Engineer Laurence Pomeroy took its name after coming first in the legendary ‘Prince Henry Trial’. A tough 1250 mile event held in Germany back in 1910 and when production was stopped in 1915 the car became stuff of legends.
Allan Winn. Director of Brooklands Museum which will make a formal presentation to Vauxhall at the event commented:
“The Prince Henry remains Britain’s first proper sports car, with its low, rakish lines and powerful engine it was the car of choice for amateur racers pre-WW1. It was also one of the fastest cars in its day: even early models could hit 70mph.”
Of the ‘Prince Henry’s’ that will be at the event one has been in the owners family since new and the other for over 60 years. Mr Winn added:
“This weekend will be a unique opportunity to see these wonderful cars together in one location.”

Carbon Emissions and running costs are of the biggest concerns for car owners at the moment, but did you know they can both go hand in hand? Vauxhall have found a way with the new updates to their European Car of the Year range, The Insignia.
This means Vauxhall owners now have carbon emissions which are as little as 129g/km and with the average car doing close to 150g/km this is no bad thing for the environment. Also helped due to this are the wallets of Vauxhall owners who with the new Insignia model no longer have to pay Road Tax for the first year as it falls under the 130g/km tariff.
Other additions to the award winning range include reducing piston noise within all engine speeds and a newly developed noise insulation system which gives the range one of the smoothest rides around.
Despite all these changes prices have been frozen across the range so you won’t pay any more for a money and environment saving model.
All car nuts love a bit of engine noise, especially Vauxhall Car Owners of Vauxhall Sports models, Corsa owners and the older Calibra. Getting the right sound out of Vauxhall car engines can be just as important to some car tuners as increasing its performance. Today, Vauxhall News UK looked at a various number of automotive car engine tuners, both amateur and professional and asked, which one produces the best noise?
However here in the office we had many arguments over which were the best but there was a consensus on one.
Of course not exactly your average Vauxhall Calibra but, it does make an audacious amount of noise.
We have not included any others from around the world, but a Google search on You Tube should help. We hope you have just as much fun debating about these as we did.
There have been car manufacturers that have come and gone, especially those with a truly British heritage. IN some ways you can call Vauxhall a British brand as there are only a few countries where Vauxhall is used as it is also known as Opel in Europe and of course GM Motors in the USA. Having such a history in the UK means there quiet a lot of classic cars going around from the Vauxhall Viva, to the Magnum of yesteryear. Unfortunately Vauxhall did have a bit of a bad reputation for rust in the 60’s, so most cars you will see are more likely to be from the 70s onwards.
If you do own a classic car though the association with costs to run a car are in a different planet. Most Vauxhall classic car parts are far cheaper than their modern types, especially of bought from a specialist and not the local dealership. there are also many autojumbles around these days, so there are even cheaper classic car part bargain to be found here.
A lot of old Vauxhalls are used to race, especially at hill climbs and raceways like Santapod. But there are some people who restore and just see them as they were designed, a nice basic classic car for Sundays. If you are one of them, I salute you.
Leasebam is a car lease website, that brings customers to the benefits of leasing Vauxhall cars. To compliment the real service they have added reviews on different makes and models. This has now expanded to Vauxhall reviews and in time will have some you tube video and explanation of each model sold in the UK today. It may be worth checking our this Vauxhall section as it grows into a substantial directory of the Vauxhall brand albeit limited to new cars to be leased.
Although it is never good to report job losses the figure quoted by GM currently stands at 354 losses all to be at Vauxhalls Luton plant, leasing the merseyside factory free of job losses for the moment. This comes weeks after GM decided not to sell its European division as Vauxhall car sales had improved to a point where they felt they could weather the storm.
The news was not so good for other European plants with up to 9000 jobs going in total, the brand name of Opel is used over the rest of Europe rather than the traditional vauxhall brand here in the UK. One of the contributing factors could be the extension of the scrappage scheme which has kick started sales of new smaller cars, but the return of VAT back to 17.5% will probably mean all cars will go up January the 1st. The BBC reported it as here Vauxhall Jobs Losses.
